Officer Nick Rowan was a British police officer in the 1960s who decided to be reassigned to the same small village he was evacuated to when he was a child during World War II. There, he patrols the countryside as part of a small subsidiary in the area, dealing with various incidents and issues that arise, while monitoring the local gangster Claude Greengrass.
