Pacing and setting reminds me of The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie (Le charme discret de la bourgeoisie). Whereas abrupt twist of events build suspense; the mounting tension reached a climax at dinner of the family when truth got revealed. Subtlety of subdued hints along with the impeccable looks of Tilda Swinton add up to a charming picture rarely seen these days.
For we expect with love comes happiness; Luca said "happy is a word that makes people sad". A particularly strong statement was made towards the end when Tilda proclaimed her love to the chef, when there is nothing left for love had dissipated, her husband said "You don't even exist".
好喜歡！今年第一部五星！結尾看得熱淚盈眶，很多人不喜歡前半部分，但我反而覺得前半部分就是要足夠沉悶，結尾才能有摧枯拉朽震撼人心的力量。
