隨著超級核彈的爆炸，地球徹底化為烏有。按理說，《失陷猩球》的結尾方式已然足夠圓滿，似乎杜絕了故事進一步發展的可能。不過，對于電影公司而言，一千多萬美元的票房盈利和前兩部積攢下的口碑讓他們仍然想把這個系列繼續下去。于是，20世紀福克斯發揚了勤勉催命的傳統，僅僅花了六個星期便完成了拍攝工作，在《失陷猩球》上映后的第二年推出了該系列的第三部——《逃離猩球》
工期如此之短，主要還是因為預算不多，從上一部的300萬壓縮到了250萬。受此影響，用于化妝的成本也大幅降低
《逃離猩球》殺死凱撒能改變命運嗎？未必吧。
