Adapted from Vladimir Makanin's' The Prisoner from the Caucasus CAPTIVE ', it focuses on the stupidity of war in an intimate and astonishing way. In modern times, Russian soldiers are trapped in the vast Chechen landscape, suffocated in the heat, and lost in a hostile unfamiliar environment. The handsome and concise commander Rubachin and the mischievous sniper Wofka need a guide to lead their convoy to safety. They caught a beautiful local boy who became their safe pass, but had to pay a terrible price. The person who kidnapped him will not escape this incident unscathed....
