In this silent film, married carnival performers are abused by their employers, and the film does not receive the attention it deserves. When the boss refused an unwanted offer to his wife, he mocked a lion until it nearly killed her. But other performers are involved in a unique revenge plot. Jacque Catelain directed and starred in this film for the production company of influential French director Marcel L'Herbier. Some sources also listed L'Herbier as a co director because he was praised here. This movie has some fast editing techniques that are decades ahead of schedule.
