邊緣人，這個群體一直是電影最為喜愛的題材。觀眾對于這一題材的青睞從麥茨的理論上來看，就是因為這就是真真切切的你我心中渴望的東西。性有靈，每個自我都想要成為無法復制的獨特的個體。邊緣人也就是這一群體籠統的概稱，當然，邊緣人的定義在第一眼看來是裹挾著貧窮與痛苦的。但是我們因該看到的是它還包含著另外一種狂放不羈，肆意揮灑不受制度所限定的一群人。無奈世俗藩籬太嚴苛，生活場所太固化。我們無法打破這種壁壘，實際上我們根本不敢觸碰這個壁壘。所以壓抑的精神只能夠寄居在一個可見的虛擬當中。對，電影是虛假的，可它絲毫不影響我們進入人物進行意淫。我們進入的是我們的無意識想象，我們把自己看做對方。《猜火車》或者更廣泛意義上的昆汀的暴力美學讓我們看得這么爽就是這個原因，現實將我們追求某些行為的通道堵死了，無處排解，電影給了一個合理的發泄，觀看電影的時間軸上我們清醒的進入一個白日夢的過程，去現實，去規則，一切好像給你提供了一個不用負責的發泄地，當然這也是商業電影成功的法門。

中文譯名好像是 <<迷幻列車>>，但有點曲解了英文原名原來的意思。
看畢中文譯名後第一個感覺，或會認為是一齣關於一群反叛的少年吸毒的電影。
然而，Trainspotting 在說的，是一個關於成長的故事。
你我都或多或少經歷過的故事。
成長，就是經過一個重要的過程，妥協。
另一個說法，就是被社會塑造成一個這個社會期望之中的人。
整齣電影的要旨就在開場跟結尾那兩段獨白之中。
開首的獨白這樣說："Choose Life, choose a job, choose a career, choose a family, choose a fucking big television, choose washing machine, cars, compact disc players, electrical tin openers.
